Reading

Lois loves books. She will often sit on the bed upstairs and read them for almost an hour. I have tried many times to get a video of her, and today she finally obliged. Here she is reading one of her favourites Mr Brown can Moo! Can you? (Thanks Aunt Lynda and Uncle Tim)

How does my garden grow?

After nearly four years of living in this house I finally did something with the garden. My Mom dug a bed a few years ago and put some plants in it, but those were eaten by slugs. This year a neighbour gave me some African Marigolds and I got a Clematis for my birthday. Today we took some old bricks and made a raised bed at the end of the garden.

We still have to put some soil in it, but it's a start. I'm still not sure what I'm going to plant. I was thinking maybe some ferns. This particular spot gets absolutely no sun and the ground is very damp. If any of you keen gardeners have any suggestions I would be most greatful.

Under New Management

Well, I (Hilary) have decided to take over blogging duties. It seems like the best thing to do since we now have two children to talk about, so here it goes...

Casey is now four months old and is a very happy little boy. I shouldn't say little really. He is nearly 19lbs and has been in 6-9 month cloths for about 5 weeks. He always has a smile on his face and thinks his Daddy is the funniest person in the world.

Lois has become a proper little girl. She has quite the vocabulary and seems so grown up sometimes. Last week we bought her first pair of underwear. We have not officially started potty training, but we thought we'd see what she thought of it all. She did pretty well and was even dry for two nights, but she says she doesn't want to wear underwear anymore. I'm not really bothered. We'll probably do it officially in a few months.

Mark is keeping busy at work but he has managed to complete his Life Coaching course and receive his diploma. He is working on his website and is hoping for clients soon.

I am trying to come to terms with the fact that Autumn is here. Normally I love it, but I am finding it hard this year since we didn't have much of a summer, and going on holiday to warm and sunny Majorca didn't help. Oh well. I shall put up my Fall decorations and be happy about it.
